Main Article Content

ABSTRACT
This article offers a reflective examination of theatrical directing and acting in childhood and adolescence, taking as its central framework the Campo de Visão, a pedagogical and creative methodology developed by Marcelo Lazzaratto. Throughout the text, it incorporates accounts from Marina Elias, who has applied the Campo de Visão in classes and theatrical productions with children and adolescents for more than ten years—and, in particular, over the past three years at her school of theater and emotional intelligence, Arteduca. The Campo de Visão constitutes a powerful pathway for both artistic and human development during childhood and adolescence. Its effectiveness lies in the fact that it brings together attributes that make it a neuro-compatible practice for the acquisition of sensitive and complex skills: not only the technical and artistic abilities central to the teaching–learning process of young actors, but also socioemotional competencies and skills related to self-knowledge. More than a technique, the Campo de Visão is understood here as an ecology of seeing—an environment of interdependence among perceiving, acting, and coexisting. Drawing on the ideas of Edgar Morin, Paulo Freire, Peter Brook, Karyn Purvis, and Humberto Maturana, the article investigates how this practice reveals the relational essence of theater: a space in which directing and acting become intertwined, and in which learning emerges through intra- and interpersonal listening, systemic interaction, and play.
