About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The iSys is a scientific journal focused on the Information Systems area. Its mission is to promote and disseminate the state of the art of the area in Brazil. It has as target-audience researchers, professors, students and professionals from the Information Systems area.

The submission to iSys occurs over a continuous demand, through scientific articles, but also through extended versions of best papers from related events that are supported by the journal. From 2015 on, we are planning thematic editions, besides surveys, articles describing systems and prototypes, information systems innovation cases, as well as interviews with distinguished profiles from the Information Systems area.

Peer Review Process

The evaluation process occurs with the support of expert researchers in the Information Systems area. In general, the articles are assessed by two or three reviewers, that consider criteria such as the presentation of the work, the scientific contribution, the quality of data analysis and the relevance of the work to the community.

Nowadays, the average time of each evaluation round is around three months.

The reviewers are chosen according to their scientific and technological production in Information Systems, as well as their experience in the area.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content based on the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available to the public supports a greater global democratization of knowledge. Therefore, no charges are required to submit or access papers.

Journal History

The iSys - Brazilian Journal of Information Systems was created in 2008 in the Graduate Program of Informatics (Area: Information Systems) of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). Since its conception, the iSys was designed to be a forum of scientific publication for the Information Systems area in Brazil. In 2013, the iSys becomes responsibility of the Special Committee of Information Systems (CESI), from the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC).
