OS MANUAIS DE ORQUESTRAÇÃO DO SÉCULO XIX ATÉ A DÉCADA DE 50 DO SÉCULO XX E O NAIPE DE PERCUSSÃO

Resumo

A presente comunicação pretende discutir as informações sobre os instrumentos de percussão contidas nos manuais tradicionais de orquestração redigidos até meados da década de 50, e levantar questões quanto à pertinência e validade das mesmas. Por se tratar do naipe mais recente da formação orquestral, a percussão possui muitos instrumentos que ainda se encontram em mutação em suas características físicas. A questão de sua constante evolução e sua formação instrumental é levantada como um dos geradores da grande deficiência de informações contidas nestes manuais e, conseqüentemente, dos múltiplos problemas composicionais relativos à notação e à escrita para este grupo de instrumentos. Abstract The purpose of the present work is to discuss the information on percussion instruments found in traditional orchestration manuals written between the nineteenth century and the middle of the twentieth century, and raise some questions concerning their pertinence and usefulness. As a consequence of being the youngest section of instruments in the orchestra, this group contains many instruments that are still undergoing physical changes. The constant evolution of the percussion section and its formation is cited as one of the main causes of the lack of information in these manuals being consequently one of the reasons for multiple compositional problems related to notation and writing for this group of instruments.
