Estéticas da Ansiedade: um breve ensaio sobre a angústia. Arte, moda e cultura em Londres nos anos 1990

Abstract

In this essay I have tried to briefly describe what I call the “aesthetics of anxiety”. Taking the notion of “risk” as a sociological category, I reflect on the complex economic, social, technological and political conditions and transformations that characterized the last two decades of the 20th century. Taking British creative youth as a sample, especially those working in the arts and fashion during this period, I sought to identify some of the recurrences and/or thematic, aesthetic and discursive singularities in their productions, ultimately understanding them as a type of reaction or disenchanted attitude towards generational anxieties.
