Abstract

This paper aims to analyze how black Brazilian women re-elaborate knowledge about their “corporalities” and configure themselves as guardians and diffusers of memories, re-signifying their place in the diaspora through “oraliture”. The methodological route adopted was the analysis of the bibliographical production on the thematic focus; this procedure enabled the construction of a brief discussion about black-women-bodies, memory, diaspora and colonialism. We demonstrated how the Western world has embodied stigmas about the black-body, in order to re-signify the black-woman-body as a guardian and diffuser of memories from the black population through oraliture.
