Abstract

Accessibility and inclusion in tourist activities require the understanding of the diversified profile of tourists, being a relevant point for the development of public actions and policies for people with disabilities. Thus, this article aims to analyze the main barriers to leisure, hospitality, inclusion and accessibility in tourism for people with hearing impairment (PCDA). Considerations are made in the face of the legislation, the classification and the understanding of a diverse and plural group regarding the PCDAs. The tourism sector needs investments, public policies, to meet this plurality and tourist demands, in an accessible and inclusive way, offering all the tourist services that are people's right. Through the research, it is concluded that the main social barrier, for PCDAs, is characterized by the communication barrier (oral, written or in LIBRAS) and the lack of attitudinal and structural preparation, which hinder accessibility in the tourism sector.
