Analysis of the Main Corruption Crimes in Brazil: A Systematic Search by Google Trends

Abstract

Corruption is a phenomenon that was born from the origin of human social relations. Specialists and researchers argue that public transparency is the main tool to fight against corruption. However, to the transparency be effective, society must know about these crimes. Thus, this work aims to look into searches about corruption crimes by citizens using Google. We used the Google Trends tool to create a systematic search and observe these searches. As result, we identified the main crimes searched by the users.
