João Cabral de Melo Neto: a poetic vessel for sublimation

This article intends to analyse, through sublimation, the way in which the subject positions himself in front of the emptiness of das Ding, or of the Thing. To this end, a poem by João Cabral de Melo Neto: Psicologia da composição [Psychology of composition] was used, in which the author describes the mechanics of poetic construction, using various metaphors of emptiness. In the work, there is the author also allocates the openness to the creation of new poems as a place of constant artistic production.
