Abstract

This article aims to dealing with the relationship of continuity and discontinuity with the elements of the Hegelian elaboration regarding thought and how it affects in various ways the understanding of the essayistic and poetic thought of Octavio Paz. which deals with the Pazian critique of Hegel's dialectical procedure, as well as the demonstration that there is no exact form of separation between one and the other. Although Paz tries to understand poetry beyond mere conceptuality and representation, there is a certain porosity between the Hegelian project that directs thought towards a certain effectiveness (Wirklich) and the poetic elaboration centered on “according to the ends”. This porosity indicates a possible deviation in the Pazian elaboration that is not concerned with results only, but with the justification of a method that allows the visibility of a thought that is not centered on concepts.
