Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to elucidate and shed light on the issue of surveillance capitalism, defined by Shoshana Zuboff. So, it must analyze how this new economic order claims the human experience as a source of base material to conduct its business; as well as outline how large technology companies have profited and expanded their revenue sources by extracting data, generated through interactions between devices and users. Therefore, it aims to reflect on the possibilities of these advances and then seek new paths that surround this current new economic order, which has in constant surveillance its pillar, for a direction that does not reduce humanity to mere users whose experiences are limited and modified to attend market demands of future behavior, because of prediction imperatives.
