Abstract

This article proposes an anthropology of cultural facilities based on ethnographic work. It presents the concept of "situational attachment", that is, the affective and effective engagement between a given cultural activity and its audience. With regard to cultural facilities, it is argued that situational attachment should play a role in social memory studies, since they operate through the previous experiences of people and group, as well as through their formative, learning and experience backgrounds.
