Review of the book "A toast to the dead: stories of those who stay", by the author Vinciane Despret, in the edition that has the translation by Hortencia Lancastre, is a work that invites us to reflect on the relationships between life and death, memory and identity. Through thought-provoking and sensitive prose, Despret not only discusses the act of remembering, but also proposes a deep dialogue with the consequences of loss and the way those who remain deal with the absence of those who have gone.
