Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this work is to show, through collected data, that the interference of the student's mother tongue and social environment, exerts great influence in the moment of acquisition of a foreign language, even more, when the languages in contact, share of the same etymological root as is the case with Portuguese and Spanish. For that, we base our reflections on Alonso Basseto (2001), Barros (1993); Donni de Mirande (1998), Fernández Trindad (2008), Fontanella de Weinberg (1979), Guitart (1983), Masip (2006), Parodi (1977) and Worf & Jiménez (1979). In this collection, we observed that, due to the regional influence, the vast majority of Brazilian Spanish language learners who live in the Zona da Mata in Pernambuco, opt for the lateral palatal sound phoneme, due to the comfort that similar or similar causes to students, during the process of acquiring a foreign language.
