Abstract

The main objective of this article is to demonstrate the importance of educational tours for students with visual impairment and the need to make this activity accessible. In this sense, three specific objectives are formulated: (1) to understand the educational, social, and cultural aspects of educational tours; (2) to understand accessibility taking into account architectural, attitudinal, methodological, programmatic, instrumental, transportation, communication and digital aspects; and (3) to present an overview of visual impairment with reference to current legislation that addresses accessibility and inclusion of people with disabilities.  Based on research that is exploratory, with a qualitative approach supported by bibliographical and documentary research, we highlight the possibility of collaborating to think about tourism through visual accessibility, taking into account tours with basic education students from Benjamin Constant Institute in Rio de Janeiro.
