The film Cría Cuervos by Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura, produced in 1975, the year General Franco died, is perhaps one of the most famous works of this brilliant scriptwriter and director, recently deceased. The film came to Brazil in the 1970s, when the country was also immersed in the dark times of the military dictatorship. Besides the obvious thematization of the obscurantism of the Franco period, the film explores other issues, among which, two that are central to psychoanalysis - fantasy and death drive. This article, paying homage to the director and, at the same time, witnessing his decisive place in the formation of his spectators, intends to dedicate itself to these two crucial topics for psychoanalytical studies. Exploring the interface literature and psychoanalysis, the text operates from texts of film criticism and psychoanalysis (RIVERA, 2008; DUNKER, 2015, CARRIÈRE, 2015), as well as from LACAN (1998) and FREUD (1908/2015; 1910/1996; 1911/1996).
