Abstract

Our proposal is, stem from the works Essa Terra, by Antônio Torres, and Zero, by Ignácio de Loyola Brandão, the thematization of the specific atmospheres (Stimmungen) of their works bearing in mind a general Stimmung of 1970s, which is melancholic. Accompanying these tonalities that intensify as an atmosphere required us to think, seeking an analysis of temporality, some dimensions of the aesthetic configurations of these narratives, considering them indices of modes of understanding and criticism of the experiences and expectations of the period. Therefore, the perception that realistic aesthetics in some Brazilian literary productions of the period operated through refractions of realities, launching us into a borderline space in which the mimetic process (meaning effects) and the affectivities mobilized in the works (presence effects) performing as a creative and critical resource, of a destructive character, enhancing even more a posture and a melancholic ambience where these works walked across.
