UMA ANÁLISE DO ASSISTENCIALISMO BRASILEIRO SOB A LUZ DA TEORIA LIBERAL DE FREDERIC BASTIAT

The present work addresses the study of Frédéric Bastiat's theory and its consequent application to Brazilian welfare politics, analyzing the governmental program "Bolsa Família". In this context, two works by the economist will be discussed: "That Which Is Seen, and That Which Is Not Seen" and "The Law", and from them, a critical analysis of the welfare model implemented by Brazil in recent years will be conducted. This article aims to point out the burdens arising from this policy: the population's vulnerability to the State itself, in light of Bastiat's non-interventionist theory, arguing that excessive state control over the distribution of income and private property leads to the curtailment of the individual's economic, intellectual, and moral development, using a hypothetical-deductive method. Finally, this work concludes that the national welfare model should be reviewed and better supervised to achieve greater effectiveness in its actions.
