Objective: to identify the factors associated with Subjective Mental Workload as assessed by the Subjective Mental Workload Scale. Method: An integrative review conducted in July 2024, considering the time frame from 2009 to 2024. The search locations included the following databases: MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, and PsycInfo. The search strategies were based on the keywords "Mental Workload" and "Subjective Mental Workload Scale," utilizing the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR." Results: The factors associated with Subjective Mental Workload included sex, age, education, leisure activities, professional category, working time, working hours, job satisfaction, health-related quality of life, stress levels, mental disorders, neuroticism, psychological demands, social support, and environmental conditions. Final considerations: Subjective Mental Workload is a multidimensional phenomenon that encompasses individual, work, and psychosocial factors.
