Impact of suicide on families: emotions, relationship changes, and coping strategies / Impacto do suicídio nas famílias: emoções, mudanças nas relações e estratégias de enfrentamento

Objetivo: compreender o impacto do suicídio na dinâmica familiar, as emoções envolvidas e as estratégias de enfrentamento utilizadas Método: Estudo qualitativo, exploratório-descritivo, com análise dos dados à luz do referencial do Análise de Conteúdo Temático, realizado na região de São João da Boa Vista/SP. Realizadas entrevistas audiogravadas com um membro por família afetada. Resultados: Participaram 15 pessoas, com predominância do sexo feminino e adultos jovens. Os relatos evidenciaram sofrimento psíquico marcado por tristeza, culpa, impotência, desespero e saudade. A perda levou a reestruturações familiares, especialmente quanto aos papéis e a impactos financeiros. As estratégias de enfrentamento incluíram espiritualidade, evitação emocional, ocupações práticas e ressignificação da dor por meio da solidariedade. Considerações: a perda por suicídio afetou intensamente as famílias e exige escuta qualificada que compreenda a complexidade dessa vivência. Reconhecer e legitimar essa dor é fundamental para promover respostas humanizadas e eficazes frente a esse tipo de perda.
