Analysis of treatment durations and discharges at a Specialized Rehabilitation Center

This study aimed to analyze the treatment timelines established during initial evaluations at the Specialized Rehabilitation Center II of the Association of Parents and Friends of Exceptional Individuals in Unaí, Minas Gerais, correlating them with sociodemographic contexts, diagnoses, and treatment outcomes. The research, which was quantitative, descriptive, and retrospective in nature, analyzed data from patients treated in 2022, with discharges occurring until June 2024. Short, medium, and long-term treatment timelines were assessed, examining their compliance, actual treatment duration, and associated factors. The results indicated that only 31.1% of treatments were completed within the stipulated timeline. The most prevalent diagnosis was Autism Spectrum Disorder, with a higher prevalence in males. It was found that treatment timelines were most frequently met in physical rehabilitation treatments. It is concluded that the formulation and evaluation of treatment timelines need to be revised, particularly for complex diagnoses.
