Objective: To identify factors associated with cancer-related fatigue. Methodology: cross-sectional study carried out in a highly complex oncology center located in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Interviews and consultations with medical records took place between May/2023 and January/2024. Cancer-related fatigue was measured using the EORTC QLQ-FA12. To investigate its association with clinical and sociodemographic factors, odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were estimated using logistic regression. Results: cancer-related fatigue was identified in 25.54% of the 278 participants. A consistent association with worse performance status was demonstrated, with odds ratios equal to 3.26 (global fatigue), 5.53 (physical fatigue), 2.41 (emotional fatigue) and 2.39 (cognitive fatigue). Conclusion: as there is an association between cancer-related fatigue and poorer performance status, patients with poor ability to perform their daily activities should have the presence of fatigue investigated, and vice versa.
