Aims: To validate the nursing diagnosis of frailty syndrome in older adults across different gerontological care settings. Methods: Data were collected from 250 older adults in various locations and care settings, including long-term care institutions, a hospital unit, and a primary care unit. Data were obtained using a collection instrument developed from the diagnostic indicators established by NANDA-I for frailty syndrome in older adults, in addition to the use of geriatric scales. Results: There was a difference in the prevalence of the diagnosis of Frailty Syndrome in the Elderly: 42.9% in the Hospital, 26.7% in the PHC, and 49.3% in the LTCF, with different diagnosis compositions. Primary Care had more negative results for the presence of diagnoses when compared to the hospital and LTCF, where the presence of diagnoses was more pronounced. In the Hospital and LTCF, the most frequent diagnoses were between four and six, characterizing the confirmation of the presence of Frailty Syndrome in the Elderly. Conclusion: It is concluded that understanding the epidemiological characterization of the different levels of care complexity aids in health management and the planning of frailty prevention actions.
