Afro-brazilian body practices and adult well-being: literature mapping protocol

Objective: To map the available scientific evidence on the health conditions of adult capoeira practitioners, identifying benefits, risks, and factors associated with the practice. Method: Scoping review protocol based on the Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines. The search will be conducted in 15 databases and will include primary studies published in the last five years, with no language restriction, addressing physical, psychological, and social dimensions. Results: The findings will be organized in a narrative synthesis, tables, and graphs, supporting decision-making and the identification of research gaps. Conclusion: The review is expected to qualify the evidence on capoeira, highlighting its role in health, well-being, and cultural identity, as well as fostering the development of protocols, research, and actions that value this historically marginalized practice.
