Abstract

Introduction: The aim of this study was to describe nursing care practices aimed at ensuring women’s satisfaction and safety during childbirth. Methodology: This was an evaluative study conducted from August to October 2024 at a referral hospital in the 6th Health Micro-Region of Ceará. Data were collected from women who experienced vaginal delivery using the Mackey Scale for Assessment of Satisfaction with Childbirth. Results: Regarding satisfaction with care, 48% of participants reported being satisfied and 24% very satisfied. The factors most strongly associated with satisfaction included humanized practices, emotional support, and the use of non-pharmacological methods for pain relief. Conclusions: Nursing care proved to be crucial for the quality and humanization of the childbirth experience, contributing to positive outcomes, a sense of safety, and female empowerment.
