Environment and tecnology: a reflection about care and confort provided by nursery in hospitalar environment

Abstract

Objective: To make a theoretical-philosophical reflection on the impacts determined by the biomedical paradigm, arising out of scientific-technological and nursing actions arising from the act of caring and comfort the body of the client-oriented perspective in the hospital. Method: This reflection has emerged from the process of preparing the doctoral thesis of the authors entitled "The concept of comfort from the perspective of clients and nurses in hospital units. Results: It focuses on the incorporation of knowledge from the dominant paradigm, determining and imposing, so a new act of viewing, care and act on the body in need of care / comfort in the hospital. Conclusions: the points and weights developed from the very nursing, Nightingale as the concepts, understanding of transcultural care of Leininger and, more specifically, comfort as understood by Kolcaba.
