Health education: a challenge for nurses working in the health care of the truck

Abstract

Objectives: To map the morbid disorders related to the health of truck drivers to subsidize the guidance of a Program in Health Education with a focus in nursing work, to identify with professional truck drivers, health problems related to their job they assigned or describe content and not focusing on the health needs of truck drivers to subsidize a program of Health Education Methods: This study was a descriptive qualitative approach, presenting research scenario as a transportation company located in Santa Cruz in the city Rio de Janeiro where 14 individuals were interviewed. The technique for data collection was chosen as the semi-structured. The subjects were the truck drivers, or drivers carrying heavy loads over long distances. Results: It is understood the worker's illness and the difficulties arising from their work activities as health problems are not always perceived by truck drivers and health education as a share of nursing. Conclusion: It was seen as necessary for the effective practice of health education, an awareness of the employees through an organization of professional nurses, so that a breakthrough in thinking and acting within this framework.
