Metodologías y limitaciones de la evaluación económica de la salud mental infantil y adolescente: una revisión exploratoria

Esta revisión tuvo como objetivo mapear las metodologías y limitaciones presentadas en los estudios de evaluación económica sobre salud mental infantil y juvenil en entornos hospitalarios y servicios comunitarios de salud mental. Se trata de una revisión de alcance, siguiendo las directrices de JBI. Se consultaron 13 fuentes de información, sin restricción de idioma o tiempo. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 44 estudios. Se observó un aumento de las publicaciones en la última década y un equilibrio entre las evaluaciones económicas completas y parciales, con predominio de estudios del norte global. Los estudios solo con niños fueron minoritarios. En cuanto a las limitaciones, destacan las muestras reducidas, la ausencia de costes indirectos y la alta tasa de abandono de los participantes. Las evaluaciones económicas parciales contemplaron menos ítems del CHEERS 2022. Las evaluaciones económicas sobre la salud mental infantil y juvenil aún presentan cuestiones metodológicas y limitaciones comunes que pueden superarse, proporcionando datos sólidos que ayuden a los responsables de la toma de decisiones en la asignación de recursos.
