“BIOHACKING NUDGES” IN SPECIALIZED EDUCATIONAL SERVICE TO TWICE EXCEPTIONAL STUDENTS

Abstract

This article aims to address “biohacking” as an alternative in the formulation of public policies aimed at gifted students with Asperger’s Syndrome. It begins by presenting special/gifted education as a social right, giftedness as a specific educational need, Asperger's Syndrome as an impairment recognized as disability and the coexistence between these two conditions as a complex public problem. It relates “biohacking” to libertarian paternalism, exposing the inspiration of both in stoic thinking. Finally, it elicits “biohacks” within the idea of “nudge”, concluding for the convenience of their use in specialized educational services. It is an exploratory and qualitative research, with emphasis on data collection and bibliographic review.
