Abstract

Objective: To report the experiences and narratives of a woman as a mother of three children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Methods: Study of a qualitative nature, of the life narrative type. The research was carried out with a mother of three children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, who was being followed up at the Riding Therapy Association of Alagoas. Data were produced from narrative interviews with a research participant. Interviews with one participant were carried out in June and July 2022, in person and individually. Results: It was noticed that the most recurrent health needs of the family member of the person with Autistic Spectrum Disorder are the perception of the child's vulnerability, isolation, depression and stressful events. Conclusion: Therefore, with the investigation of the health needs of the family member and listening to the narratives of a mother, there was knowledge of the social interaction and dynamics of these people's lives.

Author Biographies

Thaynara Bulhões, Federal University of Alagoas

Nursing student at the Federal University of Alagoas. He studied until the third period of Social Work at the same institution, where he was part of the SAMU in Schools extension project. Still in this course, he had contact, through field work at the Albergue Municipal Professor Manoel Coelho, with the homeless population of the city of Maceió. In the Nursing course, she was a monitor and event coordinator for the SAMU nas Escolas project, a volunteer for the Empowerment of Adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder project through the production of an informative booklet on the life and challenges of adults with autism, subject of immunology and virology, researcher-scholarship by the Institutional Program of Scholarships of Scientific Initiation (PIBIC), of the research project Production of Instruments for the Nursing Consultation to the child with Autism Spectrum Disorder and its relative, in addition to participating student of the Department Scientific Gerontological Nursing (DCEG) Alagoas section and volunteer of the Multiprofessional Research Group on the elderly. Active in research lines focused on: People with Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Elderly People.

Ivanise Bittencourt, Federal University of Alagoas

Nurse graduated from the Federal University of Alagoas-UFAL (2002), PhD in Education (2018) in the line of Educational Processes (CEDU/UFAL), Master in Education (2012) in the line of Information and Communication Technology in Education (CEDU/UFAL ) and Specialist in Public Health Services (2004) from the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences (FACISA-PB). Professor of the Undergraduate Nursing course at UFAL since 2005 (2005-2008 Substitute Professor in the Collective Health Sector) and since 2009 is an Effective Professor, on an Exclusive Dedication basis. She was a Professor at UFAL Campus Arapiraca in the Child and Adolescent Health sector (2009-2014) and in 2015 returned to UFAL Campus Maceió where she works at the School of Nursing (EENF/UFAL) in the subject Methods and Processes of Intervention in Nursing 2. She has experience in the area of ​​Nursing and Education, with an emphasis on Inclusive Education, working mainly on the following topics: People with Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Mental Health, Digital Information and Communication Technologies in Education, Health Promotion and Psychosocial Qualification . Works in the research group Integral Attention to the Health of Children and Adolescents (AISCA) of EENF/UFAL in the line of Care for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities. Through its study and research groups, AdulTEA and DiverPcD, it promotes investigations and actions related to people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder or other Disabilities, Families and Professionals, in order to contribute to the care, attention, support and social participation in different contexts educational and health. She is currently the General Internship Coordinator at EENF.

Elizabeth Soares , Federal University of Alagoas

Bachelor in Nursing from the State University of Ceará, specialist in Activation of Change Processes in the Higher Education of Health Professionals by the Ministry of Health, School of Public Health Sérgio Arouca/FIOCRUZ and Rede Unida, PhD in Sciences from the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto from the University of São Paulo. Professor at the Federal University of Alagoas in the area of ​​the elderly and Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE). She is currently a member of the technical chamber for standardization of ILPIs in the state of Alagoas, through COREN, Leader of the Multiprofessional Research Group on the Elderly (GPMI) registered at CNPq and Coordinator of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health in the area of ​​Adult and Elderly Health Care from UFAL.

Student of the ninth period of the Nursing course at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL). Currently, she monitors the subject of Adult and Elderly Health 1. Researcher at the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC). Member of the Academic League of Sexually Transmitted Infections (LAIST) and the Academic League of Geriatrics and Gerontology (LAGG), both from UFAL. Extension worker of the Cuid(A)ção Extension Project, whose objective is to train families to take care of their family member under palliative care at home. Member of the Multiprofessional Research Group on the Elderly (GPMI), which aims to encourage the development of studies and activities focused on the theme of the aging process and the elderly. Participant of the Scientific Department of Gerontological Nursing (DCEG) Alagoas section. He works mainly on the following topics: Elderly Persons, Aging and Mental Health.
