Objective: To estimate the prevalence and investigate the factors associated with job satisfaction/dissatisfaction among nursing staff at a university hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: This was a cross-sectional study of 334 nursing staff. Socio-demographic questionnaires and the Job Satisfaction Survey were used to measure the level of job satisfaction. Results: 21.3% of the workers showed job satisfaction, 45.5% ambivalence and 30.5% dissatisfaction. The variables related to job satisfaction were not statistically significant, but the high level of ambivalence in relation to job satisfaction may be associated with devaluation of the category, low self-esteem and even invisibility. Conclusion: It is important to emphasize that strategic actions to improve occupational health should be implemented in order to improve the level of satisfaction of these workers, which could have repercussions on safety and improve the quality of care practices aimed at users.
