Abstract

Objective: To map educational health technologies aimed at the self-care of children and adolescents with cancer.

Methodology: A scoping review was conducted according to the Joanna Briggs Institute, developed in 2024. Studies targeting individuals aged two to eighteen years and focusing on educational health technologies for self-care in managing disease- and therapy-related symptoms were included. Searches were carried out in seven information sources. EndNote Web and Rayyan software were used for duplicate removal and study selection. Data were synthesized in tables for descriptive analysis. Results: The final sample included 24 international articles. A variety of digital technologies were identified, including applications, websites, social networks, games, music therapy, videos, and humanoid robots. Other resources included drawings and storytelling, symbolic games, cards, and mixed educational technologies combining digital and physical materials. The tools identified facilitate the dissemination of information about the disease and its treatment while promoting autonomy, empowerment, and quality of life among patients.

Conclusion: Educational technologies serve as effective tools for promoting health and maintaining the quality of life of children and adolescents with cancer; therefore, their application in nursing practice is essential.
