Objective: to analyze, in scientific literature, care strategies involving art therapy in the field of mental health. Method: an integrative review conducted in the BVS and Web of Science databases, using the descriptors "art therapy and mental health" and "art therapy and mental health," including studies published between 2019 and 2024. Results: the identified care strategies included expressive workshops with painting, collage, crochet, and sculpture, as well as specific techniques such as mandalas and others. The contexts of application were hospitals, CAPS (Public Health Centers), schools, and communities. The results demonstrated benefits such as a reduction in anxiety and depression symptoms and an improvement in quality of life, highlighting the potential of art therapy as a complementary therapeutic resource. Conclusion: art therapy proved to be an effective strategy in mental health care, contributing to the well-being and coping of different populations in various contexts.
