Educational technologies in patient safety in a post-anesthesia care unit: integrative review

Abstract

ABSTRACT

Objective: to identify the main educational technologies and their aspects regarding patient safety used in the post-anesthesia care unit. Method: literature review, carried out between January and February 2021. Databases: Cummulative Index to Nursin gand Alied Health Literature; Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences; United States National Library of Medicine and Web of Science. The review followed the precepts guided by the “Key Items for Reporting Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses” and a thorough analysis was carried out, guided by the levels of evidence and methodological rigor proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute. Results: Included 10 articles. The main educational technologies were: protocols, manuals, applications, checklist, creation of instruments and clinical tools. Considerations: educational technologies play a role of significance, objectivity and care in the nursing profession, contributing to patient safety measures.

Cleide Rejane Damaso de Araújo, Federal University of Paraíba

She holds a degree in Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (1985), a degree in Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (1985), a Master's in Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (1996) and a PhD in Sciences from the University of São Paulo (2013) . He is currently an associate professor at the Federal University of Paraíba and an associate professor at the Federal University of Paraíba. Vice-coordinator of the Research Center in Ethics and Bioethics and Palliative Care (NEPB-CP) Has experience in the area of Nursing, with emphasis on Fundamental Nursing Techniques, working mainly on the following topics: nursing, semiology and semiotechnics of nursing, first aid, cardio respiratory resuscitation and pressure ulcers.

Uthania de Mello França, Federal University of Paraíba

She holds a degree in Nursing from the State University of Paraíba (1988), a Master's degree in Public Health Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (1998) and a PhD in Health Sciences from the School of Nursing of the University of São Paulo (2011). He is currently a professor in the ASSOCIATED TEACHER Class I at the Federal University of Paraíba at the Department of Clinical Nursing-DENC and at the Center for Studies in Collective Health-NESC. He has experience in the field of Public Health, with emphasis on Epidemiology, Control and Assistance in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases -DIP, working mainly on the following topics: Public Management; Epidemiology; Tuberculosis; Sexually Transmitted Infections - STIs and HIV/AIDS.

Francileide de Araújo Rodrigues, Federal University of Paraíba

She holds a degree in Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (1992), a specialization in Public Health from the National School of Public Health (FIOCRUZ-RJ/1995) and a Master's in Nursing from the Federal University of Paraíba (2001). PhD in Nursing by the Graduate Nursing Program at UFPB (2016). She is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Paraíba. She has experience in Nursing, with an emphasis on Critical Patient Nursing, working mainly on the following topics: Surgical Nursing, Nursing in Critical Patient Care, Palliative Care and Calgary Model of Assessment and Intervention in the Family. She is currently a collaborating member of the extension project: The extension contributing to the actions of prevention and treatment of wounds at the University Hospital Lauro Wanderley-UFPB.

Jacira Santos Oliveira, Federal University of Paraíba

Graduated in Nursing from the Federal University of Ceará (1988), specialization in Medical-Surgical from the State University of Ceará (1996) and Master's in Clinical Surgical Nursing from the Federal University of Ceará (1999). PhD from the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto/USP/UFPB/UFPI (2013). Associate Professor of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Nursing at the Federal University of Paraíba. Coordinator of the graduate program in Nursing/UFPB (2021-2023). Leader of the Study and Research Group on the Care Process in Nursing and Health. Project linked to the PPGENF/UFPB entitled: Nursing care in the care of the individual/family/community in different practice scenarios. Has experience in the area of ​​Nursing, with emphasis on Clinical-Surgical Nursing, working mainly on the following topics: nursing, care, diagnoses, interventions and nursing outcomes, chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, COPD, cirrhosis and kidney diseases) and more recently the risk of falls in adult and elderly patients.
