Objective: to analyze the knowledge of a hospital's multidisciplinary health team about Palliative Care before and after an awareness workshop. Method: Strategic action research, developed with 16 healthcare professionals from a hospital in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Data collected in August and September 2024, through semi-structured interviews, before and after an awareness-raising workshop, were subjected to discursive textual analysis. Results: before the workshops, the following became evident: (Lack of) knowledge about Palliative Care; (Lack of) knowledge about multidisciplinary work in Palliative Care; (Lack of) knowledge about the differentiation between Traditional Methods and Palliative Care. After the workshops, a deeper understanding of the subject was identified, as well as a favorable perception regarding the creation of the Multidisciplinary Service in Palliative Care. Conclusion: knowledge on the topic was expanded, based on the awareness workshop.
