Objectives: to investigate the comfort of patients in palliative care using the General Comfort Questionnaire (GCQ) and its association with sociodemographic and clinical variables. Method: this is a cross-sectional, quantitative study involving 155 patients. Data were collected using a sample characterization instrument and the GCQ. Pearson’s correlation test was used for data analysis. Results: the overall comfort score had a mean of 125.58, with significant variability. The physical domain showed the lowest average, while the environmental and psycho-spiritual domains recorded the highest means. Significant correlations were found with the following variables: functionality, pressure injuries, and invasive devices. Conclusions: the comfort of oncology patients in palliative care is a multidimensional phenomenon, influenced by physical, psycho-spiritual, sociocultural, and environmental factors. The use of specific instruments, such as the GCQ, makes it possible to identify the most affected dimensions and guide nurses in the systematization of care.
