Abstract

Objective: to map nurses' personal and professional values, organizing them into a theoretical framework based on Schwartz's refined model. Method: scoping review conducted according to the guidelines of the Joanna Briggs Institute, searching the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, LILACS, MEDLINE, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science databases, using the descriptors "Social Values", "Professional Competence", and "Professional Ethics", without time restrictions. Results: 108 value items were extracted, grouped into 66 distinct categories. The most recurrent values included Humanistic Inclusion, Therapeutic Environment, Social Engagement, Mutual Trust, Altruistic Care, Satisfaction, Motivation, Independence, Self-Development, Reputation, Consultative Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Performance, Humility, Tradition, Professionalism, Harmony, Integrated Protection, and Collective Protection. Final considerations: the results show that personal and professional values influence clinical decision-making and are essential for ethical and humanized practice. The proposed theoretical framework can support management and training policies, strengthening the ethical commitment of nursing.
