Methods: It is characterized as qualitative research, and the Comprehensive Sociology of Alfred Schutz has being used as its methodolo¬gical theoretician referential. Results: The depositions have allowed from the "reasons-for", to understand the subjective action of those ones emerging as a concrete category of living: to propitiate the welfare of the pregnant and the baby. It was possible, from this point, to compose the typical action as “nurses when carrying through their actions have in sight the pregnant bio-psychosocial welfare which presents high maternal and/or fetal risk and consequent risk to the welfare of the baby". Conclusion: The study has allowed the visualization of the function of the nurse in the high risk prenatal clinic, where her action is regulated in the nurse-pregnant relation, promoting holistic and humanized assistance, including the family, subsidized for the experience of a more conscientious gestation, benefiting not only the period of pregnancy, but the childbirth and puerperium, beyond the pregnant family as a whole.Downloads
